The problem

Ecostar had history, credibility, and a strong product offering — but to stay competitive, the brand needed to feel as current as the market it was selling into.

Having operated since 1979, Ecostar had long been recognised as a trusted name in double glazing. But in a category increasingly shaped by perception, timing, and digital visibility, heritage alone wasn’t enough to keep driving growth.

The challenge was not just to generate more awareness, but to ensure the brand remained relevant to modern homeowners and consistently visible at the moments that influence purchase decisions.

To do that, Ecostar needed a marketing system that could:

  • Keep the brand top of mind across multiple channels
  • Reach the right audiences with the right offer
  • Create a stronger sense of urgency around enquiry and purchase

Because in a considered category like double glazing, demand often needs to be prompted — not just captured.

Ecostar — campaign hero

The insight

For home improvement brands, recognition matters — but recognition with urgency is what drives action.

Double glazing is a high-value purchase, and while customers may not buy immediately, they are highly responsive to clear value propositions, timely offers, and repeated brand exposure. We recognised that if Ecostar wanted to strengthen its position as a leading name in the category, the brand needed to be seen consistently and compellingly across both traditional and digital channels.

That meant building a campaign around two connected ideas:

  • Mental availability — ensuring people think of Ecostar when the need arises
  • Commercial immediacy — giving audiences a reason to act now, not later

The opportunity wasn’t simply to advertise more. It was to create a presence that felt both familiar and persuasive.

The strategy

We developed a multi-channel strategy designed to build broad market recognition while also driving measurable response.

At the centre of the approach was radio advertising, used to give Ecostar a strong and consistent presence in-market. Radio allowed the brand to maintain frequency, reinforce its name, and promote seasonal offers in a way that felt timely and memorable.

This was supported by paid social and paid search, allowing us to extend the message into more targeted digital environments and reach homeowners actively considering improvements to their homes.

The strategy focused on:

  • Using radio to build awareness and reinforce recall
  • Using promotional messaging to create urgency
  • Supporting that activity through digital channels with consistent creative and offer-led campaigns

Rather than relying on a single touchpoint, the campaign was designed to surround the audience with a clear and unified message.

The Execution

Radio played a central role in the campaign, giving Ecostar a strong presence across the market and helping ensure the brand name remained front of mind. The ad creative focused on seasonal pricing and promotional deals, using time-sensitive messaging to create a sense of scarcity and encourage immediate enquiry.

That same commercial thinking carried through into paid social, where campaigns were designed specifically for homeowner audiences. The creative used branded graphics, discounted offers, and season-specific imagery to make each campaign feel relevant to the time of year and aligned with the purchase mindset of the audience.

Importantly, the campaign maintained a high level of visual and verbal consistency. Across paid social and organic content, Ecostar’s colour palette, tone of voice, and promotional approach were kept tightly aligned. This ensured every interaction with the brand reinforced the same identity — helping build recognition and trust over time.

Organic social then played a supporting role, extending the life of campaign messaging and contributing to a stronger, more active digital presence overall.

The results

The integrated campaign delivered strong commercial results, helping Ecostar translate awareness into action.

Across the 2021–2022 financial year, the campaign achieved:

  • A 66% increase in actions
  • A 122% increase in impressions
  • An average of 216 actions per month

The paid social component was particularly effective, delivering a 10:1 revenue-to-investment ratio. With an investment of $150,000, Ecostar generated $1.5 million in revenue through social media activity alone.

Beyond direct revenue, the campaign also strengthened the overall brand ecosystem. Organic social contributed to growth across followers, reach, and engagement, helping Ecostar present as a more active, contemporary, and cohesive brand in-market.

Business Impact

Ecostar’s campaign proved that a legacy brand can still feel immediate, relevant, and commercially powerful when the strategy is right.

By combining the scale of radio with the precision of digital, the business was able to reinforce its market presence, promote timely offers, and drive meaningful action from the right audience.

Because in a competitive home improvement category,it’s not enough to be established —you need to stay impossible to ignore.
